Beverage Planning Guide

Ensuring your event is well-stocked with the right amount of alcohol is crucial for a seamless celebration. Use our Beverage Planning Guide to estimate the quantities of beer, wine, and spirits you'll need based on your guest count and event duration.

General Guidelines:

  • Estimate: Plan for approximately one drink per guest per hour.

Breakdown by Beverage Type:

  • Beer: 40% of total drinks

  • Wine: 30% of total drinks

  • Spirits: 30% of total drinks

Calculation Example:

For a 4-hour event with 100 guests:

  1. Total Drinks Needed:

    • 100 guests × 4 hours × 1 drink/hour = 400 drinks

  2. Beer:

    • 40% of 400 drinks = 160 beers

    • This equates to approximately 7 cases (24 bottles per case) or 1 full-size keg (165 servings).

  3. Wine:

    • 30% of 400 drinks = 120 glasses of wine

    • With 5 glasses per 750ml bottle, you'll need 24 bottles (or 2 cases).

  4. Spirits:

    • 30% of 400 drinks = 120 mixed drinks

    • Assuming 1.5 oz per drink, that's 180 oz total.

    • A 750ml bottle contains ~25 oz, so you'll need 7-8 bottles.

Additional Considerations:

  • Guest Preferences: Adjust quantities based on known preferences.

  • Event Timing: Evening events may see higher alcohol consumption.

  • Season: Warmer weather might increase beer and white wine consumption, while cooler temperatures might favor red wine and spirits.

By following this guide, you can ensure a well-stocked bar that caters to your guests' preferences, contributing to a memorable event.
